My Story
It’s kind of a family tradition!
JST Builder is run by me, Jay Todd. I have been building in the industry for 26 years but have been around the industry my whole life. I am a fully qualified Carpenter & Joiner, completing my apprenticeship at Cowra TAFE before going on to complete my Certificate 4 in Carpentry to enable me to hold a full Builders Licence.
I have taken over the family business that was previously run by my late father Neville Todd. My Dad was able to show me all the things about the industry that you cannot learn from a text book. He was hands on and a bit old school but a brilliant tradesman all the same. He had been building for all his life and has seen many facets of design change and loads of changes within the industry. He was extremely proud of the fact that he held Builders Licence No. 40!
11 years ago he decided to try and take things easy and try out retirement, passing the reigns over to me, I was still lucky to be able to have his support and guidance for the first few years while I found my feet. Our 3rd generation family member has also recently completed his apprenticeship and is now a Fully Qualified Carpenter. Did I mention it’s a family tradition?!
